The Shalem Society for Contemplative Leadership is a community of Shalem graduates committed to fostering deeper spiritual grounding for self, religious communities and other communal settings, and the world, with the vital help of a contemplative orientation and shared practices.

Components of the Membership Commitment

  • A desire to grow by grace in personal communion with God as revealed in Scripture, realized by Jesus and also known in the lives of great prophets, mystics and in our own experience.
  • Sharing the fruits of this communion by fostering outreach to spiritually hungry people and being in service to God’s shalom in the world
  • Cultivating a contemplative orientation - attentive, prayerful discerning and response to God's leadings - in all aspects of life.
