• Charlie Parker

    • Charlie Parker has spent a lifetime working at the intersection of spirituality and social justice, both as the Executive Director of several non-profit organizations, as well as a United Methodist pastor. Although his doctoral work is in early Anglican spirituality, much of his writing and teaching has been in the area of stewardship and fundraising. He has also spent many years exploring the commonalities between Christian and Buddhist contemplative traditions. For over 25 years, Charlie has studied the Japanese flute — the shakuhachi — and the Japanese martial art of Aikido, which are both parts of his eclectic spiritual practice. A third-generation Washingtonian, he lives with his two amazing and creative children, and two rescued pets (a grumpy old dog and a neurotic cat). His debut historical novel – The Song of the Samurai – will be published in 2024.
